1993 - 1999: School Aerobics competitor
"I have been involved in Sport Aerobics for over 15 years beginning as a competitor in 1993. I competed nationally and sport aerobics quickly became an important part of my life. In 2000 I embarked upon a teaching practicum at Highgate Primary School, who were a school I knew had been involved in School Aerobics for many years. I offered my services and as fate had it, the Highgate Coach had recently resigned and I stepped in, having never coached before.
With the support of Gail Goddard, I have now been coaching at Highgate for 12 years and loving every minute of it. As time has gone by I have had many loyal team members move on from Highgate and eventually I was persuaded to enter secondary competitions. This is where we are today!
This is the fifth year of competition for Activ8 and we have experienced much success due to hard work, dedication and team work.
Rachel McConnell- Assistant Coach

1999 - 2001: Pan Pacific Games Gold Medallist/Schoolaerobics competitor
2002 - 2005: Individual female competitor- ANAC National Squad
Jasmin Rosa- Coach
2006 - 2011: Highgate Primary School / Activ8
"I come from a rhythmic gymnastics and dance background, which proved to have its advantages and disadvantages. In my first year of trials at Highgate I was unsuccessful but this did not stop me from persisting and trialling again. After 2 years of aerobics, I graduated from Highgate and moved onto high school at St Johns Grammar. Three years later I decided that I hadn't had enough of aerobics and joined with Activ8. From aerobics I found I have more self-confidence and presentation skills but also learnt that commitment, determination and dedication is what makes the teams the way they are."
